a lot going on!!!!

We seem to have a lot on the calendar these days...
I think it is just the ages the kids are at, but boy,
it seems that from now to the end of the school year, there are so many things to
remember and do...(slow deep breaths)

on top of any extra activities....

Anyway...I love keeping up with the kids and getting involved in their school work and projects...

Right now we are busy planning for the Hearts of Fire Banquet on Feb 5th...

It is shaping up to be a tremendous event for Victory!!!!
I am helping to put together a video/slide show for this event, which is a rather small
part to the whole thing, but nonetheless is pretty much always on my mind!!!

The other thing that is going on at the school right now is Science Fair.
This year we have TWO projects to put together...
hence numerous trips to the library, lots of planning, discussing, writing...etc!!!

I will be glad when that is over...I had just quit having nightmares about high school
science fair and now I am having to relive it with my children....ahhhhhh!!!

So, if you see me and I look a wee bit frazzled...just smile and nod...I'm sure you can relate!!

random nothingness.....

First, I want to explain one thing...

The rooster that lives in our "neighborhood"
crows at all hours of the day and night.
He is confused!!!

He makes me confused!!!

Hence, the tag line of the blog...

The roosters owner had his lawnmower out a few days ago (before the big snow),
he may be confused, too...

Random, I know.

This photo was taken on New Years Day....we had an all out nerf gun war going on....mommy acted innocent, but seized a weapon and took back the house when no one was looking!!!

This is the location of the newly established American Girl Clubhouse.
What great sisterly fun!!!!

The chair they are behind keeps moving farther and farther out into the family room.

Daddy thought it was fun to have target practice with the nerf discs...
Mommy thought photo op...

If anyone has any ideas on how we are possibly going to be able to discipline this child,
please share your ideas in the comment section below.

Oh my...she just busts out laughing when she is in trouble...
even her dad can't keep a straight face.

Lord, please help us!!!
I'm in tears (of laughter) by now.

And this dog...he just fits right in with the rest of us...

Hope you are having a great week...
remember to do something nice for someone today
and smile  - its just snow!!!

Choring with the Cow Whisperer

Today was a hodge podge kind of day...

Ballet for Calyn, Basketball for Aiden....

Meghan went to the farm with daddy while we did the Saturday morning
shuffle and got groceries....

Once home and fed, it was nearly time for the cows to have their afternoon tea,
so daddy thought that we all should go and share in the lovliness of the day...

Calyn was ready.to.go....gloves and all

Daddy forgot to tell mommy (until we got to the shop, of course)
that Aiden would be chauffeuring mommy to the feed lots...

he was so very proud....

I was just a bit nervous...I am not ready for drivers ed with my 8 year old!!!!!

Once we got down a small stretch of highway to the lane, I was fine....I think....

This is daddy and the girls behind us with the silage wagon.

Another view for your enlightenment!!!

Cute middle daughter/welder...

Meghan thinks she is now the expert on welding because that is what she and Jory did
this morning....Jory has been working very hard on building a new corral for working cattle....

Ok, it really wasn't awful, take your breath away cold, but the cows were putting off a lot of steam!!!

This is the where the cows eat during the winter....they eat the silage
(see this post for full explanation if you like)
that was put up in the fall.
Notice the ground...I told the Cow Whisperer that what goes in looks quite a little
bit like what comes out...ewwwww....

I guess they don't seem to mind.

This is the loader tractor with a big bucket full of steaming stinkiness from the pit.

This will be loaded onto the silage wagon for morning chores...

Meanwhile, King of the Mountain was beckoning....

Chase even gets in on this game....

This is where Jory says lovingly...
"Honey, watch out for rats."

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!

Children, get down from there now!!!!!!!!

Meghan is demonstrating to me how the cows get locked in the chute to get "worked"
...aka vaccinated.....

Do they make these for children?

I can think of many uses....
time out
force feeding vegetables
brushing hair
hmmmm

ok ok just kidding!!!

How sweet is this?
Meghan left a little love note for her daddy on a fence rail when they were working this morning...

"We are a teem Daddy Chase and Meghan"

Awwww.....

The gang in chore clothes, having a Diet Coke after chores.

Hope you all have a great weekend.
Looks like we'll be gearing up for a bit of snow
in a couple of days!!!
Hunker down!!!

Calyn loves her Emily doll!!!

Meghan and her dearly loved Felicity!!

(for the record, mom, you started all this with the Felicity movie you got her a couple of years ago...
I think I might blame you for the horse addiction, too....Felicity loved her horse, Penny!!!)  LOL!!

I think Drew was totally surprised!!!!

Abbie and her Itty Bitty AG twin doll!!!

These next few of Meghan's expressions are priceless!!!

And, Ella is not to be forgotten about her need for a purse, too!!!!
She was so proud to be like the big kids!!!

Calyn and her doll Emily and Beth with Rebecca....
I think Rebecca had already had a wardrobe change at this point!!!!
Love the handbags on the shoulders, girls....

The newly formed American Girl doll club....

there was giggling, chanting, whispering and all things girly!!!

THE ENTIRE TRIBE OF GIRLY GIRLS......

Ella had to get a birds eye view of me doing the dishes...

for the record Miss Ella....no other grandchild got away
with this particular stunt at Nana's house...

Well done, child...well done....

I believe we all might have loosened up just a bit!!!

Guess that is what happens by the time the 7th grandchild/son/daughter/niece/nephew
comes along....

Doesn't that always hold true for the youngest?  I think it might at my house....
and I'm pretty sure Bryan got by with WAY more than me growing up!!!!

We were very blessed to spend Christmas with our family!!
The kids always have a wonderful time together...just maybe not long enough!!!
